Crisp Cucumber Martini

Chilled cucumber martini

The most refreshing, light cucumber martini makes for the perfect summer drink.

One of my absolute favorite cocktails is a cucumber martini. However I will admit that I am definitely a bit of a snob when it comes to them. This is definitely NOT a drink that you order at a dive bar.

I try and avoid drinking too many of my calories, because a) terrible, you want to crawl-in-a-hole-and-die hangover and b) because obviously I’d rather be eating them. So this recipe does have a small amount of homemade simple syrup but otherwise everything else is kept fresh.

After a few failed attempts at making this, I finally found the perfect recipe. Make sure to make your simple syrup ahead of time since it needs to chill (Don’t buy this. Seriously, it’s stupid easy, costs literally 5 cents to make, and lasts for a month in a sealed container in the fridge.)

Little side note about this drink: obviously I’m assuming you’re of age if you’re drinking it, and with that being said, even if you are DRINK RESPONSIBLY. These are so delish and light it’s tempting to think that you can have 3 or more but I would not recommend it.

Like any martini make sure that you really do use a ton of ice and that you vigorously shake so that your drink gets super chilled a tiny bit watered down. Also, you don’t have to use cucumber vodka for this recipe, I just personally love the Ketel One Botanical Cucumber & Mint because it’s delicious, low in calories, and natural.

Crisp Cucumber Martini

Serves 1

Ingredients
1 oz simple syrup
2.5 oz vodka
.5 oz dry vermouth
6 small slices cucumber or 4 large
Cup of ice to shake

Directions

Start by chilling your martini glass in the freezer. (If you don’t have space you can fill your martini glass with ice while you make your drink.)

Muddle your cucumbers in a shaker with the simple syrup. Add ice, then add vodka and vermouth.

Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds (you want the ice to water down the drink a little bit.)

Pour (with a strainer) into your chilled martini glass and serve with 2 fresh slices of cucumber for garnish. Enjoy!
