Fall Vibes Apple Cider Cocktail

Apple Cider whiskey / bourbon cocktail 


Makes 1 cocktail


Ingredients

Sugar and cinnamon mixture to rim the glass 

2.5 oz bourbon 

2.5 oz Apple Cider 

1/4 cup chopped apple 

1.5 Teaspoon of maple syrup  

Squeeze of lemon 

Thin slice of apple for garnish


This fall cocktail is anything but basic. The smokiness of the bourbon offsets the sweetness of the maple syrup and the apple cider. 

I’m not typically a whiskey or bourbon drinker, but I’m trying to expand my horizons and I know there are some awesome options out there. 

The sugar cinnamon rim adds a little extra punch of flavor and texture. This is perfect while apple cider is in season.

Directions

  1. Rim your glass with lemon and then dip in the cinnamon sugar mixture. (Just like salting a margarita glass)

  2. Fill your glass with ice. 

  3. In a shaker add your chopped apple, a squeeze of lemon juice, maple syrup, and bourbon and muddle for 30 seconds.

  4. Add a few ice cubes and your apple cider and shake vigorously. 

  5. Pour over your rocks glass and garnish with an apple slice. Enjoy!
