Jalapeño Turkey burgers

Two 1 lb packages ground turkey

¼ cup chopped red onion

2 eggs

Salt and pepper to taste

½ teaspoon garlic powder

1 jalapeno finely chopped plus one jalapeño sliced into rounds

½ teaspoon cumin

Smoked paprika

1/2 cup cilantro finely chopped

  1. Add all ingredients (besides jalapeño rounds) into a large mixing bowl and mix well by hand.

  2. Form medium sized (about 4 inch) patties by hand.

  3. Heat canola oil or oil of choice in large sauté pan over medium heat.

  4. Once oil is hot begin adding patties, making sure to leave some space in between so that they don’t cook together.

  5. Once patties are browned, turn over, and cover with lid until cooked through- the internal temp should be around 160 degrees Fahrenheit

  6. Repeat until all patties are made and set aside on a foil lined plate.

  7. Add a tablespoon of oil to the Turkey burger pan and add your jalapeño rounds.

  8. Serve with avocado crema and sweet potato side.
