Strawberry Mocktail

An Alcohol Free Way to Celebrate

So many of us are doing dry January, and there are also a lot of us who prefer not to imbibe in general. This cocktail packs a lot of flavor and style without unnecessary and unhealthy additives.

This mocktail is super easy and you can totally substitute in another fruit like raspberries or switch out the simple syrup for agave as well. Also, don’t worry if you don’t have a muddler- you can use the bottom of a kitchen utensil as well.

Are you doing dry January this year? What’s your favorite non-alcoholic drink?

Ingredients

Makes 1 mocktail

  • 4-5 ripe strawberries, save one for garnish

  • a handful of fresh mint leaves

  • cup of ice

  • Pellegrino or sparkling water of your choice

  • Juice from one lime

  • 1 oz simple syrup

  • cocktail shaker

  • muddler (or use the bottom of a wooden utensil)

  • wine glass

Recipe

  1. Trim and rinse your strawberries. Cut in half and add to cocktail shaker

  2. Tear your fresh mint leaves and add to shaker.

  3. Add your lime juice and muddle vigorously until strawberries have an almost smooth consistency.

  4. Add your simple syrup and fill shaker with ice and stir.

  5. Pour into a wine glass unstrained (unless the chunks of fruit really bother you, then feel free to strain it, just add ice).

  6. Fill the rest of the glass with sparkling water and garnish with a fresh mint leaf and a fresh strawberry.
