Asian Fusion Turkey Meatballs
Healthy, Easy & Delicious - what more could you ask for?
These are one of my favorite recipes to make when I’m trying to be a little bit health conscious but also keep it simple and easy. These are great for a quick weeknight dinner and you probably already have a lot of the ingredients already at home.
I really like the panko breadcrumbs in here, but you could substitute with gluten-free breadcrumbs as well. If you don’t have red onion handy you could use yellow or white onions instead.
The meatballs would pair well with rice or a side veggie if you’re trying to keep it low-carb.
Ingredients
Makes around 8 medium sized meatballs (3-4 servings)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 red onion finely chopped
3 cloves garlic finely chopped
1/4 cup cilantro finely chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon of ground ginger
1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
Recipe
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add your ground turkey to a large mixing bowl.
Add each of the ingredients and mix well with your hands. (Yes, you need to mix with your hands to make sure that you combine the ingredients well.)
Roll the meatballs into balls about 3 inches in diameter. Be careful not to over roll or they will fall apart.
Place on a greased baking sheet and put in oven.
Meatballs should bake for between 20-25 minutes, until they are lightly browned on the outside and the internal temperature is around 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
Enjoy!
